Our Downsizing/Decluttering Service Is Just What You Need

Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to make decisions, by sorting your items into four categories: keep, donate, sell, and discard.

Keep

Do you have family treasures that need to be passed on? Important documents to locate? Collectibles or other high-value items? Once we understand your goals and preferences, we will sort, organize, display or pack the items you want to keep.

Donate

If you’re like me, you can’t bear to just discard perfect good items you no longer need. There are many deserving charities in the DFW area who will gladly accept—or even pick up—your unwanted items in good condition. Simplify can help by delivering these items to an appropriate charity (or scheduling a pickup from your home for larger items) and ensuring you receive a donation receipt for tax purposes.

Sell

Have collectibles, designer label fashion or other high value items that you’d like to sell? We can advise on the appropriate forum and, if necessary, assist by photographing the items for sale. There are many options available today, depending on the type and volume of items you have to sell. These include estate liquidators, consignment stores, online auction sites, neighborhood websites like Facebook Marketplace and NextDoor or specialty sellers such as Replacements.com, The RealReal, Poshmark, Bonanza and Ruby Lane.

Discard

Sometimes, things just get away from you: the junk mail piles up, Amazon boxes you thought might come in handy have accumulated, well-worn clothes you loved are taking up space in your closet. Simplify can help you sort through the clutter and remove what is no longer useful. If necessary, we can remove recyclables, arrange for shredding of confidential documents or schedule a trash removal service to pick up large volumes of material.

Want to move but don’t know where to start?

Simplify can facilitate your move and give you peace of mind by organizing and carefully packing your household belongings; obtaining and comparing quotes from reputable moving companies; coordinating and overseeing the process on move day; and even unpacking and setting up your belongings in your new home.

Sorting

Before we pack, we carefully sort and organize your items so that “like” items from a particular room or area are packed together whenever possible. Then, we label each box with a clear description of the contents. This makes locating specific items during or after a move so much easier.

Packing

If you choose to have Simplify pack your belongings, we take great care to choose the most appropriate box size, shape and packing materials to ensure your items are safely transported to their new home. We ensure that keys, finials or other components are securely attached to their base item and labeled clearly so they can be reattached at their destination.

Unpacking/Home Setup

We work with you to understand where and how you want items to be placed ahead of time so that unpacking is as smooth as possible. If you wish, we can unpack and organize all your belongings in your new home – it’s up to you! We can even stock your refrigerator and pantry with fresh supplies – especially nice if you’re traveling a long distance to your new home or returning from a vacation after the move.
